How We Help: Organizations new to SharePoint
Portal Solutions > About Us > How We Help: Organizations new to SharePoint
We believe that understanding the breadth of what SharePoint can do and clarifying why SharePoint is a preferred platform for new adopters can make for a successful project. Organizations are migrating to SharePoint from competing solutions to simplify internal and external collaboration for business reasons such as enhancing customer and partner relationships, connecting and sharing information, and making information accessible across the enterprise to a whole new set of users. From a pure technology perspective, new features in Office SharePoint Server 2007 such as Ubiquitous Enterprise Search, personalization operations, and new knowledge management tools empower employees to create and use people networks.
How We Help
By working with our clients to understand and prioritize the business drivers for their SharePoint implementation, we can help them maximize their investment. Each organization has different requirements and challenges, and as a result, we have designed a proven process that ensures maximum performance from step one.
The initial stage, Envision, is spent defining our customer’s business challenges. The first phase helps us to better understand what the best solution will be. One of the first things we do is integrate the Portal Solutions Consulting Team and the customer team:
Assign general areas of responsibility
Provide basic training to key staff on SharePoint capabilities
Kick off the project
Ensure Portal Solutions staff is familiar with customer business requirements
Map all necessary network and technology resources
We have found that this approach makes our customers feel more comfortable with SharePoint and are able to start tapping into its business value earlier. We are then able to effectively move to the Architect, Develop, Launch, and Optimize stages where we actually build out the solution and help them achieve their business value.
