Project Manager Summary:

This position will report to a Managing Director and will be responsible for the overall planning, directing, and coordinating of project activities for Portal Solutions consulting engagements. The project manager is responsible for successful delivery of projects within time and budget and managing interactions between clients and internal resources and subcontractors. Project managers are responsible for creating and managing project documentation and records such as project charter, statement of work, status reports and budget documentation. Project Managers will act as business analyst when required. The work done in this role will directly impact the productivity of the project team and customer satisfaction.

  • Duties and Job Responsibilities:
  • Direct responsibility for Project Management of projects in relation to clients, vendors, third party contractors, and internal resources.
  • Create and execute project plans and work breakdown structure and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identifies and manages the project team.
  • Effectively apply Portal Solutions project methodology and enforce project standards.
  • Create and maintain project management documentation, including the SOW, Charter, Project Plan(s) and status reports, and completion reports and ensure those documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Create and maintain the project budget and reports on any variances via variance report.
  • Manage risk analysis and contingency planning, and minimize exposure to risk on project.
  • Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and monitor receivables for project.
  • When required identify test cases and performed Q&A
  • Manages client issues with support from the software team including any changes to requirements or scope of the Statement of Work (SOW)
  • May manage more than one project simultaneously
  • Obtains critical sign-off of major milestones with Task Completion Reports
  • Provide business analysis, requirements gathering on project where required
Qualifications:

  • Professional experience working closely with clients on large-scale collaboration & content management projects; communicate and present concepts and deliverables to clients.
  • Experience working with SharePoint (MOSS 2007). Hands on experience in implementing the SharePoint Architecture and good experience with SharePoint Design and/or template Development.
  • Experience conducting task flow analysis, building user experience models, scenarios, interaction flows.
  • Professional experience in prototyping and user testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of information architecture, information design, and other relevant fields of inquiry.
  • Strong business-analysis experience and/or feature-set analysis experience
  • Experience with software development and project management tools and methodologies
  • Demonstrable organizational, analytical, communication, writing, presentation, and prototyping skills.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience as a project manager or program manager and skilled with the management methods and processes associated with complex software development using project planning tools such as MS Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large and small projects consisting of indirect reports and external resources, and the ability to lead and work in a team environment with all levels of management.
  • Proven track record in successful management of multiple projects.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Understanding of the Microsoft SharePoint business value, and the ability to articulate and lead discussions with clients around these concepts.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint or .Net Development strongly desired.
  • Exposure to SharePoint deployment, migration, and implementation projects a plus.
Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, business or related field
  • PMP certification a plus
