Senior Consultant
Portal Solutions, LLC seeks a Senior SharePoint Consultant for its Rockville, Maryland office. We are a managed Microsoft Certified Partner specializing in Microsoft SharePoint technologies, based in Rockville, MD. The successful candidate will consult with clients to define needs, and conduct studies and surveys to obtain requirements and recommend solutions. This position will also plan, design, and implement new solutions using SharePoint Technologies or improve existing systems per discovered requirements. Other duties include:
- Define requirements for improving or replacing systems including Portal, Intranet and Custom Applications
- Analyze requirements, architect solutions, implement and test final solution
- Manage resources as required
- Manage project planning, budgeting
- Assist in business development
- Develop and architect web based solution and/or web parts as required
- Advise client on alternate methods of meeting their needs or recommend specific solutions
- Present findings, recommendations, and specifications in formal written reports and oral presentations
- Document results and outcome of solution
- Maintain and meet scheduled deadline dates
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S., B.A.) required
- Three to seven years related experience and/or training
- Consulting experience aplus
Proven development experience using ASP.NET, Microsoft .NET Framework, XML Web Services, C# and/or VB.NET
- Experience with database Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005, T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Analysis Services experience a plus
- HTML, Javascript, XML, XSLT experience desired
General knowledge of one of the following development methodology: Object Oriented Development, Component Based Development, eXtreme Programming, Patterns, Design for reuse
- Experience using or architecting solutions using Microsoft SharePoint Technologies, SharePoint Portal Server 2003, MOSS or Windows SharePoint Services v2 and v3, understanding of SharePoint architecture is a plus
- Microsoft Certification, MCAD, or MCSD .NET
- Experience with .NET Framework 2.0
- Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Visio
- Read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals.
- Microsoft Certification MCAD or MSCD strongly desired
Salary commensurate with experience. Local travel may be required in the Washington, DC and Baltimore metro area.
7+ years experience with business information systems integration or custom business application design and development (ERP/CRM/Commerce/EAI/Portals)
