Portal Solutions, LLC seeks a SharePoint Engineer for its Rockville, Maryland office. The successful candidate will consult with clients to define needs, conducts studies and surveys to obtain requirements and recommend technical solution for SharePoint imp,emetnation. This position will also plan, design and implement Sharepoint Server farm and support internal development and consulting team. Other duties include:
· Define architecture for improving or replacing systems including Portal, Intranet and Custom Applications
· Analyze technical requirements
- Install and configure Windows Server 2003, SharePoint server farm, SQL Server installation
- Advise client on alternate methods of solving need or recommends specific solution
· Present findings, recommendations, and specifications in formal written reports and oral presentations
· Document results and outcome of solution
· Provide on call support to customers regarding SharePoint Engineering
· Maintain and meet scheduled deadline dates
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S., B.A.) required
- Two to four years related experience and/or training
- Proven network engineering experience installing Windows Server 2003, SQL Server 2000/2005, ISA Server 2004/2006, IIS and ASP.NET
- Experience with database Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005
- Understanding of web application deployment
- Experience deploying and installing Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server or Windows Sharepoint Services, understanding of Sharepoint architecture is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and/or Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 a plus
- Microsoft Certification strongly desired, MCSE, MCSA
- Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Visio
- Read, analyze, and interpret common technical publications.
Salary commensurate to experience.
Local travel may be required in the Washington, DC and Baltimore metro area.
