PortalLabs is the R&D center within Portal Solutions that looks at emerging technologies that have the potential to radically change the way that individuals and organizations produce and consume information. Cloud computing, mobile devices, and social computing are rapidly changing the way information is stored, managed, and delivered. The price-to-performance ratio of storage, computing power, and devices continues to drop and we believe that major breakthroughs in collaborative/connected solutions for the enterprise 
are not far off. We want to be part of that innovation and actively evaluate new solutions based on their potential to deliver significant improvements in productivity, quality, and innovation within organizations.
In keeping with our mantra of Share.Find.Succeed, we are looking at ways that individuals can share their accumulated knowledge more quickly and effectively, irrespective of whether that knowledge is stored in documents or data, or “know-how” stored in their heads. We are also looking at vast improvements in “findability” of information which involves automating the tasks of organizing and categorizing information, as well the presentation of search results via an intuitive user experience.
