Founder & CEO

Daniel Cohen-Dumani founded Portal Solutions in 2002. His mission from the beginning has been to build the leading provider of knowledge optimization solutions. With Daniel as CEO, the company has thrived, becoming one of the fastest-growing firms in the DC area, as ranked by Inc. magazine.

Daniel was nominated in 2009 and 2010 as one of the DC Smart100 CEOs. Daniel has more than 20 years of experience in the field of computer science and software development. Daniel is a frequent speaker at SharePoint conferences and user groups, and a recognized SharePoint and Office 365 Subject Matter Expert.

Prior to founding Portal Solutions, Daniel served as the CTO of On Campus Marketing/Alloy, a Bethesda-based leading marketing firm, and prior to that he served as the CIO and Senior Vice President of the Execustay division of Marriott Corporation. Daniel graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology with a degree in Computer Science.


Chief Operating Officer

Dale has more than 15 years of experience building and operating IT services firms in the Washington DC area.  Prior to joining Portal Solutions, he built one of the areas first portal practices at Project Performance Corporation (PPC) and developed the business into a successful Division encompassing Portal, Knowledge Management, Business Process Management, and Data Warehousing practices.

He was on the management team that sold the business in 2008 and ended his career as PPC's CTO.  Since then, he has worked at Oracle and also founded Porter-Briggs; a boutique consulting firm that helps firms understand and adopt cloud technologies.

Dale holds a Bachelors degree from SUNY Geneseo and a dual Masters and Ph.D from the University of Maryland at College Park.


Chief Technology Officer

Val Orekhov has more than 15 years of experience in web development technology and consulting. As Chief Technology Officer, he is responsible for setting the overall technical strategy and providing technical oversight for Portal Solutions’ projects and delivery.

Val’s expertise includes Web Development using .NET Framework 2-4.0, Enterprise Search Technologies like FAST and Google, and expert knowledge of the SharePoint platform. Val has eight years of experience working in the International Development field and headquarters settings, specializing in IT operations support and software/systems development. Val often speaks at SharePoint conferences and local user groups.


Director of Advisory Services

Jill Hannemann is a recognized expert and frequent speaker in the topics of portal strategy, governance and information architecture for clients in the government, media and commercial product industries. As Director of Advisory Services, she brings over 10 years of experience with information architecture, taxonomy and metadata design, information governance, search and enterprise content management system design to drive user adoption and return on investment.

Jill brings a unique blend of skills and experience being able to tailor portal solutions to connect users with a company’s most valuable asset, explicit and tacit knowledge. Jill is a seasoned IT business consultant in the full development cycle for deployments and upgrades with portal platforms, in particular Microsoft SharePoint. This includes the security management strategies, data modeling and integration of new technologies, content management and storage, training, and communication strategies.

Prior to joining Portal Solutions, Jill was the Director of Knowledge Management with Project Performance Corporation, managing a portfolio of clients consisting of Nike, Merck Pharmaceuticals, SunTrust, Johnson and Johnson, the United States Secret Service, the U.S. Senate and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.


Director of Technology

Mark H Bramhall, Director of Technology, runs internal IT as well as consulting with many diverse clients. Since 1970, Mark has been creating software products, customizing software packages and doing fully custom software. He does management of the full life cycle, both technically and overseeing the personnel and processes. Since 1996, he has done infrastructure design and management covering networking, security, applications, help desk and managing day to day operations.

Today he is focusing on cloud implementations for both Portal Solutions and its clients, using Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.


UI/UX Design Capability Director

Adam Krueger has over 12 years of UX design and front-end development experience.

He is passionate about his role in creating highly functional, enjoyable business applications and advocating for user-centered design practices. Adam has brought to bear his experience and philosophy of User Experience design on applications involving Microsoft technologies, specifically Microsoft SharePoint.

His understanding of SharePoint as a platform, including its native capabilities and development challenges, allow him to create highly usable, desirable interfaces while building them in a way as to take full advantage of SharePoint as a platform. His points of contact on a project include business analysis, user research, information architecture design, interaction design, visual design, usability testing and front-end development.

Adam also strives to empower the members of the UI/UX Design Capability to grow in their technological proficiency and design abilities.


Director of Marketing

Jenny Lynch has an extensive multimedia marketing background executing campaigns in highly competitive and changing marketplaces. As Director of Marketing, Jenny brings more than 15 years of experience in the marketing and sales industry with an emphasis in developing highly targeted marketing, public relation and social media campaigns. Over the years, Jenny’s efforts have garnered hundreds of free stories in local, national and international media outlets; Forbes, Wall Street Journal, CNN, The Associated Press, Yahoo! News and the Washington Business Journal, to name a few.

Jenny is responsible for positioning Portal Solutions as the leading technology consulting firm in the mid-Atlantic region, ensuring market growth and new business penetration.

Prior to joining Portal Solutions, Jenny was Vice President of Marketing for an online auction technology company. She developed and implemented the company’s overall marketing vision, including strategic marketing and communications planning, public relations, lead generation, brand development and market positioning. Instrumental in successfully promoting and marketing over $150+ million in real estate sales, Jenny garnered the most extensive and highest level of media coverage in the company’s 12-year history.

Josh is a seasoned call center process consultant turned SharePoint therapist with a decade of experience in launching intranet portals. Josh is a strong advocate for segmenting users within organizations to deliver effective, targeted training programs. Josh is a frequent flyer of the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business, where he completed his MBA and a B.S. in International Business. Josh holds a DoD security clearance, has achieved ITIL Foundations V3, is Comptia Security+ Certified, is a Yammer Certified Community Manager and has extensive training in Agile and Traditional Project Management.
